As they wear, chains stretch. As they stretch, chains begin to retard the
cam timing. This is not a problem with either gear, shaft, or belt drive.
There have been a number of DOHC engines, both inline and v, using gear
drive, but most have been exotics or racing engines. I don't think the
method of cam drive is the single criterion for assessing an engine. FWIW.

Oxygenated fuels are fuels that contain non-hydrocarbon compounds such as
ethanol or MTBE, which contain oxygen in their atomic structure. It is
known that during the winter, when combustion temperatures are reduced (due
to the colder air), more uncombusted fuel and other bad stuff form.
Therefore, the addition of these oxygenated fuels serves to compensate for
that problem. However, ethanol and MTBE produce less energy than for a
corresponding equal amount of regular gas. Ergo, your gas mileage drops.
